About The Role
Working within a growing sales and technical team, the Sales Engineer / Applications Engineer / Account Manager you will be responsible for:
- Spending an average of 2-3 days per week on the road with new (40%) and existing customers (60%) across the south of the UK.
- Working remotely and attending their southern office around 3 days per month.
- Developing relationships with clients in Academia (50%) and industry (50%).
- Pre/post-sales customer support.
- Building lasting relationships with Professors, Researchers, Laboratory Technician, Project Engineers, Project Leaders and Directors.
- Understanding clients’ application challenges and providing equipment solutions that are fit for purpose.
- Conducting both virtual and face-to-face meetings.
- Preparing customer quotations.
- Attending industry exhibitions and events to build market knowledge and gain competitor analysis.
- Handling both technical and commercial inquiries from your territory.
- Presenting and demonstrating my client’s technology, discussing the features and benefits it has to offer.
About You
The successful candidate MUST possess experience within a customer facing role, this could be as an Applications Engineer, Presales, Technical Sales, Product Specialist, Account Manager, Sales Manager or Sales Engineer.
This should be within a technical discipline such as, but not limited to, metrology, instrumentation, laser technology, non-contact measurement, oscilloscopes, frequency generators, signal generators, power analysers, radio frequency analysers, power supplies or affiliated.
Other key requirements include:
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
- Willingness to learn and develop.
- Driving license.
