My client is a global leader in the design, development and production of measurement technology for a wide range of applications.

They offer an extensive range of solutions to meet the high demands of industry and academia.  They pride themselves on being the premier brand within their industry and have built a strong reputation across the Materials Testing industry for their innovative and dynamic approach.

POSITION

Reporting in to Europe you will be responsible for:-

  • Operating from a home office and spending one day per week at my client’s offices in the South.
  • Leading, monitoring and supporting a team of 5 sales professionals to provide sales, technical and application support to customers.
  • Developing sales with direct customers in the UK and Ireland and providing support to distributors in Scandinavia.
  • Ensuring your region achieves budget.
  • Handling both technical and commercial enquiries from your customer base.
  • Identifying and qualifying potential customers and new business opportunities.
  • Creating the territory business plan including forecasts, revenue and expense controls.
  • Developing relationships with both Universities and industry.  Typical industry clients would include customers operating within sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace, Engineering, Marine and Medical.
  • Managing and growing new (50%) and existing (50%) customers.
  • Operating in a 75% sales and 25% managerial role.
  • Achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Understanding customer needs and providing bespoke solutions.
  • Building relationships with Professors, Researchers, Engineering Managers and Engineers.
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date CRM.
  • Creating, checking and approving sales quotations, contracts and purchase orders.

PERSON

The successful candidate will possess past experience selling sensors, instrumentation or test and measurement equipment and ideally have some exposure to team leadership and management.

Due to the technical nature of my clients products, candidates will ideally possess a HND or Degree within Mechatronics, Physics, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.

All candidates must possess a mix of technical and commercial skills and be comfortable presenting to clients and to the internal management team.

Past contacts with Universities and Labs would be highly beneficial.

A full UK driving license is essential. Other key skills include:

  • Competent use of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with Professors and Researchers.
  • Willingness to travel in Europe if and when required.
