About The Role
Following the completion of your training and induction, you will be responsible for:
Operating from a home office covering the Nordics region.
Developing sales of my client’s scientific instruments (value range from €70K to €800K) within the Academia (50%) and Industrial (50%) markets. Industrial clients could include businesses in Optoelectronics, Semiconductor, Microelectronics, Quantum Computing, Pharma etc.
Working on a typical sales cycle of around 12 months from initial lead to purchase order.
Supporting with equipment demonstrations at my clients’ European Demo Centre, virtually via Teams and on customer site.
Developing and growing sales pipeline within the territory by operating in a mixed new business and account management role.
The key account management of two major industrial clients.
Selling in at Engineer, Post Doc, Professor, Quality Control Manager and Head of R&D level.
Generating and attending both face-to-face and virtual meetings.
Qualifying and responding to incoming inquiries and website leads.
Generating leads by holding local workshops, attending conferences and exhibitions.
Working on annual sales objectives and targets.
Developing lasting relationships with customers.
Securing upgrade and replacement instrument sales within an established install base.
Becoming the product expert for your region.
Understanding customers’ applications and proposing fit for purpose instrument solutions.
About You
The successful candidate will possess a minimum degree level education within a scientific or engineering field such as Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biological Sciences, or Material Science. A Master’s or PhD would be highly advantageous but not essential.
Coupled with the above education, candidates will possess proven experience selling complex analytical / scientific instruments with a value of over €100K, this could include but is not limited to Microscopes, SEM, TEM, XRF, XRD, MicroCT, Electron Microscopy, Nanotechnology, 3D Imaging, Optical Microscopes, Laser Deposition, Spectrometers, X-Ray Systems, Particle Accelerators, Particle Analysis.
Other key skills required include:
- Advanced language skills in English and at least one Nordic language (Swedish, Norwegian or Danish).
- Self-motivation with the inner drive to be successful.
- Comfortable communicating at all levels.
- A full driving license.
- Resourceful with the ability to generate client appointments.
- The rights to work in Sweden, Denmark or Norway with no travel restrictions within the Nordics territory.
- Team player with a willingness to learn.
