About The Role
Following your training period, you will take charge of the Northern England region, with a focus on Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, and Sheffield.
Working autonomously, your responsibilities will include:
- Nurturing existing (40%) and growing new business (60%).
- Securing waterproofing specifications on both 60% retrofit and 40% new build projects across your territory, these include large residential (apartments), hospitals, and care facilities to name a few.
- Developing relationships with main / sub-contractors, architects, and consultants.
- Delivering technical and commercial presentations. (CPD’s etc.).
- Tracking and overseeing projects from conception through to completion. Using Glenigan and the CRM to do so.
- Typically working to a sales cycle of 3-6 months.
- Managing and growing a £1m region.
- Identifying customers and the key decision-makers on each project.
- Attending customer visits and understanding the technical details of the project, allowing you to prepare a proposal alongside the technical team.
- Project post-sales support, including onsite training of the installers and routine inspection visits.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of my client’s competitors and their products.
- Ensuring clients are well-versed in my clients’ products, USPs, and applications.
- Keeping up to date with the latest safety legislation and regulations.
- Ensuring my client’s business maintains its market-leading position.
- Attending activity meetings and industry events.
- Networking existing customers and developing sales opportunities within other project sites.
About You
You will bring at least 2-3 years of field sales experience in the construction sector, preferably in the specification of building materials.
A degree in engineering, architecture, or business would be advantageous, but not essential, however, the right personality and practical experience, combined with a willingness to learn and adapt is critical.
To be considered candidates must exhibit a high level of drive, autonomy, enthusiasm, and an ability to engage customers.
