About The Role

Following completion of your training, as a Service Engineer you will work from a home office and cover the Netherlands.

Responsibilities include:

  • Spending time between customer sites and my clients Netherlands workshop. Any travel is conducted Mon-Fri and therefore doesn’t encroach onto the weekends.
  • Visiting Netherlands customers to complete reactive problem solving (50%), preventative maintenance (40%) and new equipment installations/commissioning (10%). Some of the most advanced equipment can take up to 2 days to complete an installation and also 2 days for planned preventative maintenance.
  • Visiting major industry (80%) and research and academia clients (20%).
  • Liaising with customers directly to schedule the service visit.
  • Decommissioning equipment for site relocations.
  • Conducting routine service and calibration work, alongside more reactive maintenance, including fault finding and problem resolution.
  • Working on equipment including both hardware and software ranging from €100K to €300K in value.
  • Completing service visit reports.
  • Handling service tickets, gaining the equipment log file and using TeamViewer where possible to gain remote access to their equipment.

About You

The successful candidate will possess at least 1-2 years of service engineering experience, gained working on complex equipment, which could include but not limited to, Analytical Instruments, Spectroscopy, X-Ray Microscopes, Electron Microscopes (SEM / TEM), Atomic Force Microscopes (AFM), Thermal Analysis, Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Elemental Analysis, Laser Deposition, Spectrometers, X-Ray CT Systems, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Particle Accelerators, X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), Particle Analysis machines or similar.

A degree level education or above is beneficial, but not essential.

It is, however, essential you have a logical and methodical approach to finding faults and be comfortable spending time away from home when needed. (2 nights per month depending on your location).

A valid local driving license is essential, as is the rights to work in the Netherlands. Candidates must possess professional level spoken English. Although Dutch is beneficial, it is not required.
