About The Role

As a Sales Manager / Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a team of 3 direct employees including two Sales Engineers and a Service Manager who in turn oversees a team of 20 service personnel.
  • Operating from a home office, with the main area of travel being Ireland but there is also a requirement to travel within the UK to support team members.
  • Selling turnkey solutions to the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Attending industry events, exhibitions and shows.
  • Understanding customer pain points and application needs.
  • Prospecting and generating your own leads, managing your sales funnel and working toward sales growth objectives.
  • Operating in an 80% sales and 20% managerial capacity.
  • Developing both new (50%) and existing (50%) customer relationships.
  • Operating in a project sales role with sales cycles from 1-4 years and values anywhere from €1m to €35m.
  • Managing 5-10 key account customers in Ireland (major pharmaceutical manufacturers).
  • Building lasting relationships with C-Suite, Directors, Senior Managers and procurement staff.

About You

The successful candidate MUST be a hands-on Sales Manager with proven experience developing sales of capital equipment within the Irish pharmaceutical market. Access to decision makers at site level is essential.

A technical engineering education is highly beneficial, but not required should you be comfortable holding discussions with both technical and nontechnical individuals. (My client’s technical team are on hand to provide support)

A full driving license is needed. Other key skills include:

  • Open-minded to learning new ways of working and adapting to new processes.
  • Rights to work in Ireland. (Sponsorship is not offered)
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate, inspire and influence others.
  • A trustworthy, diplomatic and empathetic nature.
