The Brief
A European scientific equipment manufacturer needed to strengthen both service delivery and technical sales support across Italy. Previous hires had been either too service-focused or too commercially driven, leaving gaps in customer support and pre-sales activity. With increasing demand from universities and industrial R&D centres, the business required technically credible engineers who could work confidently on-site and with customers.
The Process
We worked closely with the European leadership team to define a dual-profile search. Our approach focused on engineers with hands-on experience servicing complex analytical systems, alongside the communication skills required to support demonstrations, training, and technical sales discussions. A targeted headhunt was carried out across Italy, engaging candidates from laboratory instrumentation, imaging, and test equipment backgrounds.
The Result
The client successfully hired both a Service Engineer and a Technical Sales Engineer who were able to operate independently across Italy. The new hires improved response times, strengthened customer relationships, and supported commercial growth within months of joining.
