The Brief
A global manufacturer of microscopy and imaging equipment approached us to recruit a Service Engineer to support their customers across Sweden and neighbouring regions. Their internal recruitment efforts had failed to attract candidates with hands-on experience in both optical and electron microscopy systems. Many applicants came from general electronics backgrounds and lacked the precision engineering expertise needed to service high-value instruments used in research and academic environments. With several installations and maintenance visits delayed, the business needed a technically capable engineer who could quickly restore service continuity.
The Process
We collaborated with the Nordic Service Manager to define the specific technical requirements, including experience in microscopy, vacuum systems, and control electronics. The role required an engineer capable of managing both preventative maintenance and complex fault-finding, often independently.
Our search targeted candidates from laboratory instrumentation and test equipment backgrounds across Sweden. To ensure cultural and technical fit, we conducted behavioural assessments focusing on problem-solving, customer communication, and ability to work autonomously.
