We were approached by a French manufacturer of pump and skid systems who had been trying to recruit a National Sales Manager for over four months. Initially, they attempted to fill the role via LinkedIn job postings and internal referrals but failed to attract candidates with the right level of industry experience and technical sales capability. With pressure building from senior leadership to fill the role and avoid further disruption to their growth plans, they decided to partner with us through our Retingency model.
The Process
We kicked off the project with a detailed discussion involving the Sales Director and HR lead to clarify the expectations of the role, regional focus, and required technical knowledge. We built a market map focused on competitors, systems integrators, and distributors operating in related sectors such as fluid transfer, process equipment, and filtration. We launched a discreet headhunting campaign targeting commercially successful individuals who had a strong understanding of engineered systems. Given that most candidates were not actively looking, we invested significant time in educating them on the company’s offer, culture, and potential for career growth.
Despite a tight market, we identified and interviewed several high-calibre professionals and submitted a shortlist within three weeks. We coordinated a structured two-stage interview process and remained closely involved throughout to manage expectations and timelines.

The client successfully hired a candidate with extensive experience in technical solution sales across the fluid handling sector.
