Are you a Regional Sales Manager / Sales Engineer with proven experience within the sensor, measurement, or data acquisition field?

My client is a global leader in the design, development and production of sensors & data acquisition systems for a wide range of test and measurement applications.

They offer an extensive range of solutions to meet the high demands of industry and academia.  They pride themselves on being the premier brand within their industry and have built a strong reputation across the Mechanical Testing industry for their innovative and quality-driven approach.

  • £40K – £48K Basic (Starting salary dependent on experience)

As a Regional Sales Manager / Sales Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Operating from a home office and developing business across the Northern England and Scotland area. (Birmingham north)
  • Selling my clients range of advanced measurement technology directly to end users in the Oil/Gas, Renewable Energy, Rail, Civil, Structural, Aerospace, Automotive and Academia sectors.
  • Developing relationships with R&D Engineers, Test Engineers, Applications Engineers, Technical Managers, Researchers and Engineering Managers.
  • Managing and developing a multimillion-pound turnover.
  • Conducting technical/commercial discussions with clients to understand their needs, proposing solutions that are fit for purpose.
  • Negotiating sales contracts and agreements.
  • Acting as the central contact between the customer and production – discussing quality, organising test samples and handling any key issues.
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date CRM.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 2-3 years’ technical sales experience in data acquisition, sensors, instrumentation, or other measurement based technology. 

This will ideally be gained within a field sales position; however, my client is open to considering talented internal sales engineers wishing to make the transition into a field-based role or Applications Engineers wishing to move into a Technical Sales post.

A technical education within Electrical / Electronic Engineering / Mechatronic Engineering would be highly beneficial but not essential.

It is essential all applicants possess a proactive sales approach and have proven success identifying new business.

Other key requirements include:

  • A full UK driving license.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with Engineers.
  • Desire to learn.
