The Brief
We were engaged by a specialist manufacturer of metrology and inspection systems to recruit a Sales Manager to support growth across Denmark. The business supplied high-precision inspection and measurement equipment used within quality-critical manufacturing environments, including automotive, aerospace, and precision engineering.
Despite strong demand and proven technology, the client had struggled to identify candidates with both the technical understanding of metrology solutions and the commercial capability to manage consultative, solution-led sales. Previous recruitment activity had produced generalist sales profiles that lacked experience with non-contact measurement, optical inspection, and quality inspection processes. With key opportunities emerging in Denmark, the client needed a technically credible sales professional who could engage confidently with engineering and quality teams.
The Process
We worked closely with the European Sales Director to define the scope of the role, which focused on developing new business across Denmark while also managing and growing existing industrial accounts. The successful candidate needed experience selling capital equipment into manufacturing environments and the ability to manage sales cycles typically ranging from one to six months.
Our search targeted sales professionals operating within metrology, materials testing, optical inspection, vision systems, and related high-precision instrumentation markets across Denmark and neighbouring regions. We focused on candidates who were comfortable selling into quality-led environments and who could build relationships with Quality Managers, Process Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Procurement teams.
Each candidate was assessed on technical understanding, consultative sales approach, pipeline management, and their ability to operate autonomously within a territory-based role. Within a short timeframe, we delivered a shortlist of highly relevant candidates who could represent the client’s technology credibly and add value from day one.
The Result
The client successfully appointed a Sales Manager with strong experience selling metrology and inspection solutions into Danish manufacturing environments. The successful candidate quickly established relationships with key customers, progressed multiple opportunities through the sales pipeline, and began generating new business within their first few months.
The recruitment process was completed efficiently, allowing the client to strengthen their presence in Denmark and support continued growth across the Nordic region.
