The Brief
We were approached by a global manufacturer of industrial coatings to help recruit a Key Account Manager covering the UK and Ireland. The client had tried to fill the role through direct advertising but struggled to attract candidates with knowledge of corrosion-resistant systems and experience managing Tier 1 OEM relationships. With key accounts lacking support, they needed a more focused approach.
The Process
We held a briefing call with the UK Sales Director to understand the product portfolio, which included epoxy, polyurethane, and high-temperature coatings, as well as the expectations around client engagement and project delivery.
Our search focused on candidates with a background in protective coatings, ideally with experience supporting clients in sectors such as oil & gas, marine, and heavy industry. We prioritised individuals with strong account management skills and the ability to handle project-based technical sales.
We submitted a shortlist of four professionals with proven experience managing strategic customers and specifying coating solutions into demanding environments.
The Result
The client successfully hired a candidate with extensive coatings knowledge and strong OEM relationships across the region. The recruitment process was completed in 19 working days.
