The Brief
We were approached by a European manufacturer of signal processing and data acquisition systems to recruit a Business Development Manager for their UK operation. The role was crucial to building their presence in defence, aerospace, and industrial sectors. Despite multiple advertising efforts, the client had struggled to find candidates with the required blend of technical knowledge and commercial awareness. With market opportunities being missed, they asked us to support the search.
The Process
We met with the UK Sales Director to fully understand the product suite and ideal candidate profile. The successful applicant needed strong knowledge of real-time DAQ systems, embedded computing, and experience managing long sales cycles in technical environments.
We carried out a targeted headhunt, focusing on professionals selling into R&D, test and measurement, and automation sectors. Our team conducted detailed interviews to assess not only product knowledge but also the candidate’s ability to lead technical discussions and drive customer engagement.
We submitted a shortlist of three high-calibre individuals who matched both the technical brief and cultural fit of the organisation.
The Result
The client appointed a candidate with extensive experience in modular DAQ platforms and a proven track record of securing specification-led projects from concept through to delivery. Their combination of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels made them an ideal fit for the role. From initial briefing to signed offer, the entire recruitment process was completed within just four weeks, enabling the client to swiftly address their resourcing needs and avoid disruption to ongoing projects.
What the Client had to Say
“Mase quickly understood the complexity of the role and the challenges we were facing. The quality of candidates was excellent and the whole process felt well-managed from start to finish.”
