The Brief
Mase Consulting were approached by a manufacturer who was at the forefront of research and technology. The business was keen to recruit a candidate who was credible when speaking to the world’s leading scientists. Having been trying to fill the position for over 12 months, the client was almost certain this particular skill set did not exist within the UK.
The Process
After a thorough discussion with the client, we agreed to work on a contingency basis. We started by understanding exactly what the client required and the sourcing difficulties they had faced. We then agreed a detailed hiring strategy including an advertising campaign, networking and a detailed search of our extensive database systems. We conducted thorough assessments and interviews of several potential candidates and submitted a shortlist of three talented individuals from within the client’s direct market. We organised for all three to meet with the client, managed the interview process and assisted with the final selection.
The Result
Confident in our ability to fulfil our client’s needs, we accepted the assignment and our team worked tirelessly to identify potential candidates. This resulted in a shortlist of three candidates within two weeks of accepting the role. The successful candidate has since gone on to become a real asset to the business and has been promoted twice within their first 18 months in the role.
What the Client had to Say
“Against all odds, Mase Consulting came up with a candidate who fitted our requirements perfectly. They spent time asking the right questions in the early stages, which meant they came back with a number of relevant options for review. We look forward to working with the team again.”
