My client is looking for a senior accounting / finance professional to be the legal director for their European businesses.

About The Role
As the European Controller / Finance Director, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting in all aspects of accounting and finance for 10 entities/subsidiaries across Europe with a combined turnover of $60-70m.
- Guiding, mentoring, and coaching a direct team of 5 with around 15-20 indirect staff.
- European budgeting, measuring and reporting on monthly and quarterly performance.
- Hold weekly meetings with your team (local country controllers) to ensure all key activities are completed.
- Preparation for external audits across multiple European locations.
- Preparation of financial analysis and management reports.
- High-level tax and strategic planning.
- Advising the business on financial and tax exposure and opportunities.
- Process improvement, digital transformation, ERP rollouts and upgrades.
- Traveling to my client’s other European locations. (2-3 trips per quarter)
- Implementing internal processes to ensure compliance to US GAAP and SOX.
- Working with the Tax Directors to ensure the business complies with tax regulations in its operating countries.
About You
You will have a minimum of 8-10 years of European / International Finance leadership experience in a senior capacity (Director / Controller) and possess solid experience in US GAAP and SOX including exposure to ASC 606 and transfer pricing.
Experience working for international manufacturing/production businesses would be highly advantageous due to the understanding of inventory cycles/logistics, and also the exposure to tax regulations in different countries.
A master’s degree in accounting or an MBA in accounting or finance would be highly beneficial, however, my client is open to considering a bachelor’s degree in these areas should you possess the international experience needed.
Other essentials include:
- Full driving license.
- High interpersonal skills, motivation, and the ability to operate autonomously.
- Ability to communicate effectively and lead remote teams across Europe.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel.
- Ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines.
- ERP experience.
